THE KANSAS CITY STAR
Three Missouri lawmakers — one Republican, two Democrats — plan a lunchtime news conference in Jefferson City to endorse Proposition A, the local police control initiative for St. Louis on the statewide ballot in eight weeks.
Some endorsers from our area include state Sens. Jolie Justus and Victor Callahan, both Democrats.
Tuesday the Missouri AFL-CIO endorsed the proposal.
A quick check does not reveal any organized opposition to the proposal. If it passes, Kansas City would be the only major city in the nation without full control of its police department.
